When I was off on Maternity leave, my partner would take our newborn daughter down to Burleigh Heads first thing in the morning, so I could get an extra hour sleep and they could have some time together. Although I was exhausted (first time mum with a newborn) I would get major FOMO, so I started to join them for some vitamin D and a lay in the park by the beach. Here is where Sunnie Rae began...

We only had a small 1.5 x something felt picnic rug that was never big enough, the grass and twigs would stick to, you could never get rid of the sand, no matter how hard you shook it and spills were just a nightmare. When trying to find an alternative option, I soon realised there was nothing within our price range that met all of our needs. We couldn't afford the $130-$160 blankets on offer, and there was nothing in between.

So my creative juices started to flow. Having studied fashion design when I was younger and still being a creative person at heart, I set out to design our own, affordable picnic blankets that ticked all the boxes. Something that was not only perfect for mums & families, but everyone.

Sunnie Rae was born!

Our designs are hand drawn by myself and unique to Sunnie Rae, you won't find them anywhere else. They are limited in number, as we understand it's nice to have something different to everyone else. 

We understand how frustrating it is to buy something new and for it to not last. So making a quality product was super important to us and is what sets us apart, our picnic blankets are very durable and made to last.

We are a locally owned small business based on the Gold Coast, Australia, and we love getting out into our community and supporting other small local businesses.
